Claudio Scolari Project
(modern jazz)

Imagine a dialogue between two drum sets. Add electronic sounds and different acoustic instruments to complete this mysterious music blend: welcome to a new musical dimension of modern jazz. The project presents an abstract musical vision of the past, present and future, represented by a mixture of old and contemporary timbres. The main role is given to the 2 drum sets played by Claudio Scolari and Daniele Cavalca supported by the background sound made with live percussion and synthesizers. Part of the melodic compositions are given to the trumpet played by Simone Scolari who collaborates in the project to complete the performance on stage.

"For those who thrive on jazz electronica, ambient and world-beat soundscapes this will proof a fascinating disc that will reward close attention".

Euan Dixon, JAZZ VIEWS (May, 2013)

"Avant garde yet remarkably accessible, Claudio Scolari is charting a new musical direction for the modern jazz movement".

Brent Black, CRITICAL JAZZ (Jan. 18th, 2012)

"Mysterious, winding and nuanced, Colors of Red Island is soundtrack music to some imaginary movie. But I'd go see the movie just to listen to the music".

Victor Aaron, SOMETHING ELSE (Aug. 7th, 2012)

"This is a stand out project that is reminiscent of some of the best European improvised music that was first brought to North America by the likes of Jan Garbarek and Eberhard Weber. However, now it is the time of the Scolari and Cavalca".

Raul D'Gama Rose, ALL ABOUT JAZZ (Nov. 8th, 2010)
